Parliamentary Activity

Want to Visit Parliament?
Parliamentary Tours
UK residents are able to book a tour of Parliament through their MP. The tour route passes through Westminster Hall – the oldest part of the Parliamentary estate – the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Tours are also available for larger groups such as school trips.
Each tour lasts approximately one hour. Please note that tours are only available for certain dates and at certain times, depending on whether Parliament is sitting.
For more information about visiting Parliament please go to Visit Parliament
Please note that the tours office is only able to facilitate a limited amount of tours each day. It is best to try and book a tour well in advance and some flexibility with dates may be required.
To arrange a tour please email hazel.blears.mp@parliament.uk

Watching Parliament
Members of the public are able to watch the House of Commons in action. The first hour of each day is set aside for question time, when MPs are able to ask a range of questions to a Minster, who responds on behalf of the Government. The rest of the time is allocated for debates on government legislation and a range of other policy issues.
MPs can try to arrange tickets for the gallery, although Members only have a very small ticket allocation every fortnight. To try to arrange tickets please email hazel.blears.mp@parliament.uk as far in advance as possible with details of your preferred date.
It is also possible for visitors to join the public queue outside St. Stephen’s Entrance; however a wait of 1 or 2 hours is common during the afternoons.
Please note tickets for PMQs on a Wednesday need to be booked well in advance due to demand.

The following parliamentary appearances are published on the TheyWorkForYou website. Clicking on the title of any entry will take you to the full transcript of the relevant parliamentary speech or debate.

To find out what issues and debates are coming up in Parliament you can visit the House of Commons Calendar website.
