Salford & Eccles Constituency
From Wikipedia:
Salford and Eccles is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is the successor seat to the previous Salford (UK Parliament constituency).
The last MP for Salford was Hazel Blears, and the MP for Eccles was Ian Stewart. Hazel Blears was chosen as the Labour Party candidate to represent the new constituency at the 2010 general election.
Following their review of parliamentary representation in Greater Manchester, the Boundary Commission for England formed the Salford and Eccles constituency from the following electoral wards:
Claremont, Eccles, Irwell Riverside, Langworthy, Ordsall, Pendlebury, Swinton North, Swinton South, and Weaste and Seedley.
Eccles was split between two constituencies following the review; for the other, see Worsley and Eccles South.
